Хороший день (рассказ)

 - Ну же, давай, заводись.
Уже полчаса его старенький "фольксваген" не желал трогаться с места.
- Ну же...

Давно уже пора купить что-то поновее, но... Лучше даже не думать об этом. Сейчас он снова начнёт вспоминать о задержках зарплаты, о невыплаченной премии, у него поднимется давление. Шут с ним. Придется ехать на автобусе.




"Дожили. Руководитель отдела без личного транспорта", - думал он, быстрым шагом направляясь к остановке.

Автобус показался на горизонте. "Надо же, какая удача".

Двери открылись, и, как выяснилось, что до удачи здесь было далеко. Он кое-как протиснулся в салон. Больше пассажиров автобус вместить уже не мог, но, вопреки всем законам физики, на следующей остановке двери отворились, и толпа протолкнула его дальше. А затем ещё дальше, и ещё.

Плотно зажатый между спинами, он уже не держался за поручень, и просчитывал, как будет  пробираться к выходу. Так, это "Стадион". Это "Торговый центр". Ну, вперёд. Защищаясь портфелем, как щитом, он  с воинственным видом пробирался к выходу. "Больше ни в жизнь".
 
Начало дня не предвещало ничего хорошего. Из центрального офиса должны приехать с проверкой. Обычно они являются не раньше обеда, но и он обычно не опаздывает на работу.

- Они уже здесь, - прошипела секретарша.
Иначе и быть не могло. "Ну, начинается".

 - Доброе утро. Извините, что заставил себя ждать. У меня не завелся автомобиль...
- Это не имеет значения, - он поёжился под надменным взглядом. - Мы уже всё осмотрели. Составили, так сказать, общую картину. Дисциплина в вашем отделе хромает.
Проверяющий повернулся на каблуках и направился к двери.

Он хотел было возразить, но не стал. Молча зашёл в свой крошечный  кабинет и уставился на маркерную доску. Вот уже столько лет его день начинается с планирования.  Потрепанная губка в левой руке - стереть выполненные задачи. Борд-маркер в правой: красный - для срочных и важных задач, зелёный - для важных, но не срочных, синий - проставить даты, назначиить исполнителей. Новые маркеры покупают редко, головной офис жмотится на канцелярию.

Потрепанный маркер неприятно скрипел по доске. Надо дать секретарше денег, чтобы купила завтра по пути на работу. А то ведь он забудет... Слишком много всего нужно контролировать.

Галстук сдавил шею. Он расслабил узел, расстегнул пиджак и медленно опустился на стул.

Столько нервов. Столько нервов, а всё из-за этой старой развалины... Почему она  не завелась именно сегодня? И почему он до сих пор не может позволить себе новую?  Спустя двадцать лет "преданной" службы.

Ещё пара срочных задач остались невыполненными, но ровно в 6 вечера он вышел из офиса. Решил пройтись до дома пешком. Его шагом это по меньшей мере полтора часа... Ничего. Полезно для здоровья.


Последние пятьсот метров дались особенно тяжко. Пульс сбился. "Фольксваген" ждал своего хозяина.
 Он открыл дверь, медленно сел на водительское кресло, потрогал руль. Вставил ключ зажигания - так, ради интереса.
Завёлся.
- Вот чертяга! А что с утра капризничал? Я, между прочим, из-за тебя опоздал. - От радости он пару раз нажал на клаксон. -   Чтобы завтра в 7 утра, как по расписанию.

Он посидел ещё немного, и направился к дому. Хороший день. Сегодня определённо хороший день.
